Seahawks Game Week: The Blue Wave

No stats today. No break down or predictions.

Just magic.

LET’S GET THIS GOING!

Seahawks Game Week: A Look Back

12 Jan

We are 4 days away from the Seahawks travels to Chicago to take on the “Monstahs of ‘da Midway” (see what I did there?), and we should all take a look back at our last few meetings with ‘Da Bears.

Since 2000 the ‘Hawks and Bears have met 6 times in the regular season and playoffs, which have been split. Of these games, the largest win margin was in 2006 when the Seahawks traveled to Chicago and got destroyed 37-6. That same year they had to travel to Chicago again in the Divisional round of the NFC playoffs, and this time lost by a more respectable 3 points, 27-24.

The past doesn’t matter, right? All that matters is the current team, the current roster and the current coaching staff. What does that mean? It means that the Seahawks made the trip to Chicago this year and won 23-20.

Again this means nothing, because it is now winter, the field will be frozen and it is the playoffs.

But it does bode well: this staff has seen that staff. They know what they want to do. They know that Mike Martz likes to pass and tends to give up on the run. They know that Jay Cutler likes to try to force the ball into coverage. It is also his first playoff game, and we all know about his lack of accuracy when he gets flustered. This is good for Seattle who has seemed to be back to the bend-but-break defense that made them dangerous in 2005.

Look, do I think they are going to win? No. But this week’s articles are about getting us pumped! SO LET’S DO THIS!

Remember this gem?

Seahawks Game Week: Let’s Get it Started

11 Jan

It has been a good few weeks for the sports fans in Seattle: the Huskies destroyed Nebraska in the Holiday Bowl, then the underdog Seahawks manhandled the Rams to make the playoffs with the worst record in history, and then Saturday. We are all still recovering from that game; one of the most important and outstanding games in Seahawks history.

Which is why I will post major plays from Seahawks history to get you Hawks fans frothing for 10AM Pacific on Sunday.

Today’s is the one that we will all remember for the rest of our lives. One of the most outstanding runs of not only this player’s life, but of the team’s history. I speak, of course, of everyone’s favorite earthquake creating touchdown run. The 67-yard rumble by Marshawn “Beast Mode” Lynch.

After this play, I looked at The Wife and said: “Screw my head, I am rooting from my heart and this team is going to the Super Bowl.”

I wasn’t the only one. I mean, come on, you are telling me that 67,000+ fans at that game, the same fans that caused an Earthquake, aren’t thinking the same damn thing?

A team that is hot at the right time, has a massive chip on its shoulder, and continues to get overlooked? I’ll put my fan hat on and drop a bet on them.

Why not when they have “BEAST MODE!” (thanks for finding the video, Jacob)
